FAQ: Membership Recruitment Program

You can refer a non-member to get in touch with World Millwork Alliance two ways:

  1. Refer them to the WMA website and complete the Request to Join Form located in WMA Membership tab. After submission, WMA will contact the non-member distributor.
  2. Contact WMA directly at 727-372-3665 or email Mail@WorldMillworkAlliance.com.
To assist you in your recruitment efforts, reference the Member Services page.
The WMA membership application provides an area for applicant to provide the referring company and person. This area is referenced so WMA is able to track the referring company and individual for any eligible membership rewards.

If the referring distributor non-member was a former WMA distributor whose membership lapsed prior to 2014, incentives will be in effect for your recruitment efforts.

No. Although the WMA Membership Committee appreciates recruitment and retention efforts on overall membership; the Membership Recruitment Incentive Program is intended for new distributors. The mission of the MRIP is about producing a healthy and productive association with strong leaders; allow for as many potential relationships between manufacturers and reps; and continue to have a prominent voice on behalf of the millwork industry.

Upon completion of the application and approval process, the referring WMA member will receive a notification from WMA stating you have been referenced on a new member application as a referring member. WMA company contact person will be notified of any dues incentives; however, it is the responsibility of the member to follow up with the Association in claiming and obtaining all other the incentive(s); WMA holds no responsibility and is not obligated to fulfill unclaimed incentives by WMA members. Reference the 2019 Membership Recruitment Program Incentive Terms and Guidelines for deadlines and other restrictions.

If you did not receive an incentive from a new distributor member you referred, chances are the applicant did not reference your name and/or your company in the “referred by” portion on the WMA membership application. Remember, even if the applicant mentions your name when telephoning WMA, the applicant must reference your name and company on the membership application at the time the application is submitted to WMA for you to receive credit for the referral. Incentives will not be applied anytime thereafter.

Yes. If you would like to email prospective non-member distributor contact information to WMA (which shall remain confidential to WMA), the Association will contact the non-member distributor regarding membership. You will still get the credit – providing you tell us who they are!
