Meg Waltner, a blog writer and energy efficiency advocate for the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), writes that the California Energy Commission voted unanimously today to approve the 2016 Building Energy Efficiency Standards (Title 24), which will go into effect January 1, 2017.  California has set a goal to have all residential buildings in the state be zero net energy (ZNE) by 2020 and these newly revised standards brings the state closer to that reality.  Title 24 is updated every three years, so there is only one more update left before the 2020 target year.  Find out what the major changes are to the 2016 standards.  Read More at Switchboard.nrdc.org
