It is with a heavy heart that RSL, of Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey, must announce that our founder, Bernd Lewkowitz, has passed away.
Bernd, 86 of Margate, NJ, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, November 8, 2017. His passing was unexpected, yet he was surrounded by his loving family from Barbados and New Jersey.
Bernie grew up in a large family in Dusseldorf, Germany and, after surviving the Holocaust, emigrated to America. While crossing the Atlantic by ship, he met, and fell in love with, his devoted wife of 62 years, Hilde. Together they raised two children, Ron(Sharon) and Sharon(Scott) and were delighted by their 7 grandchildren: Justin, Max (Amanda), Micah (Hilary), Arel, Laurel (Mitch), Ari & Tamar.

Robert T. O’Keefe, former president and CEO of National Sash and Door Jobbers Association, now the World Millwork Alliance, died June 15, 2017 in San Antonio, Florida. Bob led the NSDJA/WMA for over 22 years until his retirement in 2002.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria; five children; and eight grandchildren.
World Millwork Alliance (WMA), an acknowledged leader in the millwork distribution industry, will hold the 53rdAnnual Convention & Tradeshow, October 7th– 11th, 2017, in Charlotte, NC. WMA’s premier event attracts industry leaders and key decision makers; including millwork distributors, manufacturers of products and services, and sales representatives. Over the course of three days, millwork industry professionals will come together in networking and education events, attend business meetings and visit exhibits at the Charlotte Convention Center and at WMA’s host hotel, The Westin Charlotte Hotel. The convention program schedule provides this years’ line up of education speakers, featured keynote speaker, forum groups, networking events and exhibit hall hours.
World Millwork Alliance sadly expresses the loss of Vernon Earl Potter who passed away January 11, 2017, almost attaining the age of 88.
For more than four decades, Dallas Wholesale has been a WMA member. A pioneer in the millwork industry, Vernon Earl Potter will be missed by his family, friends, and the millwork community.
It is with a heavy heart and much sadness that World Millwork Alliance informs the WMA membership that loyal member and friend of WMA, George Edward Kessel, Jr. passed away.
Many in the millwork industry remember George Kessel as President of Morgan Wightman Supply Company. A distributor member company who supported WMA since 1993. George was an active contributor and a true leader of WMA. George volunteered his time to serve as an association officer for four years as WMA Treasurer and Finance Committee Chair until 2013. George participated in several strategic plans, and remained active in the association financials as a committee member through 2016.
