Irv Leavitt contact reporter for the Chicago Tribune  writes that Underwriters Laboratories (UL) testing laboratory, which is known primarily for testing home equipment survivability under extreme stress, is now testing for extremes placed on homes themselves.  Last month UL’s Building Envelope Performance Test Lab in Northbrook, Illinois started testing windows and other building products rated to withstand hurricane force winds and rain, tornadoes, and other dangerous weather.   Read More in the Chicago Tribune >
