Despite headlines reporting that the housing industry has slowed during the second quarter of this year, both new and existing housing are having the best year of the eight years of recovery since the recession according to Chuck Shinn Jr., Founder, Builder Partnerships. So far this year, total housing starts are up 3.2 percent from 2016, with single-family starts running 7.2 percent over last year and multifamily down 5.1 percent.
