(New Port Richey, Florida) World Millwork Alliance (WMA) is grateful to have weathered the ravages of Hurricane Ian that hit the southwest coast of Florida last week as a Category 4 storm with sustained winds of 150 mph and causing catastrophic flooding from the storm surge and heavy rains. Many people have lost their homes, have had their health compromised, and are suffering from traumatic stress. Less than 20% of homeowners have flood insurance and there were over 80,000 homes damaged by the storm.

According to CBS News, the death toll has surpassed 100. In its recent newscast, CBS Evening News shows how the southwest Florida area was ravaged, the relief efforts that are underway, and how people are coming together to help. CBS Evening News Hurricane Ian update
