TYPES OF MILLWORK CAREERS

Responsible for all areas of assigned Accounts Receivable related functions; including but not limited to “collections on all past due accounts, reconciling and resolving all discrepancies; provides excellent customer.

Provide support to a Millwork Division.  Duties could include: assist walk in and telephone customers with selection and purchase of Millwork as needed; Invoice processing; process credits; customer service; communications with customer orders and delivery and with vendors; safety and wellness initiatives.

Designs accurate models as needed; assists in maintaining and updating drawing files; creates accurate toolpaths and programs for the company; Assists with the engineering of products; creates detail part drawing for the operators; works with departments to ensure efficient manufacture of products, and participates in design reviews and revisions; may attend trade shows and networking events.

This position includes managing account balances to discover outstanding debts or other inconsistencies; collecting all information needed to calculate bills receivable; checking the data input in the accounting system to ensure accuracy of final bill; issue invoices and statements and updates accounting records for customers.

Control engineering is a type of engineering that applies control theory to various design systems. Control engineers work with numerous types of technology from household appliances to rockets in order to create control systems. Control engineering is based upon specific mathematical theories that allow engineers to effectively gather control feedback.

A division controller manages a business unit’s financial activities, transactions and human resources and processes. The division controller prepares financial and management reports, develops annual budget and forecasts, exchanges information with stakeholders, analyzes growth opportunities and coordinates external audits. A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or economics is required and have good communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.

This position produces accurate shop drawings (e.g. architectural millwork and casework); and may include assisting others in a department with drafting; may perform research to provide accurate information on shop drawings; learn material take-offs; cut listing and package checking; research product cut sheets to assist with design; may assist with onsite visits for field dimensions; and could organize copies of shop drawings

Generates detailed submittal drawings and to incorporate design changes and field dimension corrections as need and generally works with project teams.

Prepares work to be accomplished by gathering information and materials; plans concept by studying information and materials; illustrates concept by designing rough layout of art and copy regarding arrangement, size, type size and style, and related aesthetic concepts; obtains approval of concept by submitting rough layout for approval.

This position provides technical help or knowledge as a computer expert and may be part of a team or department in a company providing technical assistance.

This position requires strong experience with CAD Software, MS Access, and MS office who will be manufacturing and coordinating business plans as well as developing future engineering methods.

Product manufacturing may include an array of responsibilities for performing a variety of jobs involved in the manufacturing of millwork products including fabrication of product, equipment operation, warehousing operation, machine set-up, and preventive maintenance activity.

Coordinates delivery schedules: assists in distributing various reports and program audits; coordinates efforts between many departments; communicates with customers and salesman about product/ capabilities; data entry and manipulation; may sell lumber and building materials, conduct price quotes, process orders and returns, and develop excellent product knowledge

This position usually requires prior experience in construction, millwork or assembly work.  This position will set up and operate door machining equipment and assemble exterior / interior door units. Potential to assist with outside service work.

Estimator will be required to provide accurate and timely take offs using architectural plans and specifications. An estimators responsibilities include: interpret architectural drawings and blueprints in order to perform take offs and estimates for customer projects; analyze job specifications, blueprints and supporting documents to insure that all items are properly identified and included on the customer quotation; determine and calculate quantities of materials specified for projects; create and prepare cost estimates for projects; preparation of material orders as required for projects; as well as customer support.  This position requires excellent interpersonal, organizational and communications skills.

This position will be responsible for managing all manufacturing including personnel, product quality, production, machinery, and continuous improvement processes. Other job responsibilities may include: manage, track and coordinate activities of manufacturing personnel; plan work schedules and assignments to meet production deadlines; monitor job hours and project time lines; create efficient work processes and methods; responsible for safe operation of all equipment and machinery; hire, train and supervise employees and may implement lean manufacturing methods and principles.

Supervise and coordinate the activities of production co-workers to ensure smooth production of millwork products.  Enforce safety procedures and policies and ensure a safe work environment is clean and free of hazard.

This position coordinates assignments and dispatches work orders to the service providers, and adjusts work as needed; notifies customers of delivery or service timeframes, as well as following up with customers when project is complete; handles incoming calls from customers and works escalations to full resolution; shares building and administrative duties in addition to serving as a back-up to the other Production Managers; and may assists with the management of the local warehouse and building, and vehicle maintenance and usage.

The Project Manager has the overall responsibility of successfully executing assigned projects. The project manager is typically assigned to specific accounts/customers where he/she will be in charge of coordinating various projects associated with that account.   Job functions could include: review all documents related to a project including; approved shop drawings, architectural plans and specifications, equipment cut sheets, product fact sheet for material handling and fabrication; and review drawings with field conditions, adding notes as needed for production.

This position purchases millwork products; such as, doors, jambs, millwork, and stair parts using knowledge of purchasing policies, processes and procedures. The purchasing agent communicates with salesman, production and deliveries on special order products and vendor acknowledge dates. Gets accurate cost to salesman on special order items and researches and resolves inventory questions and issues.

This position will examine raw materials, assembled parts and/or finished products to verify conformance to specifications and determine any defective areas.    Could assist in train of new employees.

Sells and promotes millwork and other products through key dealers and builders at sales office, store, showroom, or customer’s place of business. Responsibilities include: works with customers to convert inbound inquiries into actual sales; overcomes technical and business objections for prospective customers; emphasizes salable features, quotes prices, and prepares sales orders for orders obtained; estimates date of delivery to customer based on product knowledge, order processing, production and delivery schedules; prepares reports of business transactions; enters new customer data and other sales data for current customers into computer database; investigates and resolves customer problems;  builds and maintains customer relationships; complies with required company policy and procedure and communicates with buyers on product shortages or quality issues.

Manages sales, supply chain and sales support activities related to an assigned product or product line, including inventory, purchasing, delivering, and service in order to maximize revenues and profitability, especially in relation to competitors’ products.

Employees in this job direct the work of professional staff in a transportation planning program. The work requires knowledge of the regulations, rules, policies and procedures pertaining to specialized areas of transportation planning, and supervisory techniques, personnel policies, and procedures. The employee, under general supervision, works within general methods and procedures and exercises considerable independent judgment to adapt and apply the guidelines to specific situations, as needed.

Truck drivers with a Class A license.   Individuals must adhere to all appropriate State and Federal motor vehicle regulations and deliver unload mechanics; may require use of automatic routing and location software.  Must have great attendance record and good customer service.

Lead, supervise and coordinate the activities of the warehouse. Take ownership of the inventory from receipt to delivery to the shop and the docks. Lead the pullers, receivers, cycle counters and order pickers. Responsible for coordinating the recycling program.   Coordinate the creation and maintenance of bin locations to maximize puller and picking activities. Coordinate maintenance/repair of warehouse equipment.

Manages team of install support staff who are responsible for servicing work completed by install/warranty/service department.  Oversees inside support related activities and coordination of the install/warranty/service department.
