Insurance Journal reports that the state of New York is starting the process to adopt the 2015 International Codes or I-Codes of the International Code Council (ICC).  The Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety (IBHS) commends the New York Code Council  for this decision and is urging the council to complete the process by the August 2015 deadline.  New York currently enforces the 2006 I-Codes, which are outdated in comparison to the 2015 codes that will increase public safety, and improve the resilience and energy efficiency of structures.
