Michael Cohn, Editor-in-Chief of AccountingToday.com, reports that an IRS rule takes effect today that imposes heavy fines on small businesses who are caught helping to cover the costs of their employees’ health insurance or medical expenses.  Mr. Cohn reports that the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) said that small businesses caught helping their workers buy health insurance or pay medical bills can be fined 18 times more than larger employers that don’t provide coverage at all.  The NFIB also noted that this rule is not referenced in the Affordable Healthcare Act.  Read More at AccountingToday.com.
