Officials for Endura Products Inc. say they’re one step closer to completing the acquisition of Contact Industries, with both organizations beginning operations under the name of Endura Products Inc. earlier this week. The step is one of many that brings the two companies toward operating as a unified entity since the acquisition began in December 2016.

California Consumer Privacy Act

As you may know, last September a new consumer privacy measure was signed into law in California. This new statute, the California Consumer Privacy Act, is one of the most stringent privacy laws in the United States. Businesses that meet specific criteria and collect personal information about California consumers will be covered and will have until January 1, 2020, to be in compliance with the new law.

Lawmaker Introduces Bill to Create OSHA Heat Standard

Rep. Judy Chu, Democratic congresswoman from California, introduced a bill that, if passed, would direct OSHA to create a standard for heat-related injuries and illnesses. Chu bill, H.R. 3668, was introduced July 10 and has been referred to the House Committee on Education and Labor.
