Peter M. Fecht Passes Away (1950-2015)
Peter M. Fecht passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2015, at the age of 65, after battling health problems. Pete spent his entire career in the millwork industry. He had worked at the former Lawrence Brothers Hardware for 29 years, Generation 4 for 13 years, and the last year with PreHangers Supply Corporation where Pete was credited to giving the young business a successful start.
Pete was known as a kind, honest and giving person. Always a helpful to friends and those in the millwork industry. A close friend of Pete commented on his passing, “Those of us who worked closely with Pete are especially honored to have known him. We all benefited from his generosity and optimistic, positive attitude. Those attributes never changed, even throughout the past several weeks and days. Most of all, we benefited from Pete’s friendship. We will miss our dear friend.”
After graduation from Newman Central Catholic High School, Pete served in the U.S. Army in Germany from 1970-1972. He was a member and past commander of the Sterling American Legion Post 296. Pete enjoyed fishing, riding his motorcycle, playing pool and reading.
Pete was born March 11, 1950 in Dodgeville, Wisconsin, the son of Robert and Mary J. (Yanna) Fecht. Pete is survived by his three sons: Andrew Fecht, Robert Fecht and Jonathan Fecht; brothers, Patrick (Deb) Fecht and Mike (Nancy) Fecht; a grandchild, Morgan Fecht and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

ISO 9001:2015 Standard Now Published
The International Standards Organization (ISO) recently announced publication of the latest edition of ISO 9001, ISO’s Quality Management Systems standard that revises the 2008 edition and replaces previous editions. According to Nigel Croft, Chair of the ISO subcommittee that developed and revised the standard, this latest edition of the standard is less prescriptive, focusing more on performance “by combining the process approach with risk-based thinking, and employing the Plan-Do-Check-Act cycle at all levels in the organization.”

NAHB Announces
Strategic Partnership with Greenbuild
NAHBNow reports that the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) will be one of three top tier partners at this year’s Greenbuild International Conference and Expo which will be held November 18-20, 2015 in Washington, DC. “NAHB has long been an advocate of sustainable, high-performance building and remodeling, and Greenbuild is a perfect venue for us to continue educating the industry about the importance of building green,” said NAHB Chairman Tom Woods. “We are excited about this new opportunity, and look forward to helping build up the residential green building presence at Greenbuild.”
