The Energy and Environmental Building Alliance (EEBA) and ecomedes announce the launch of the EEBA ecomedes sustainable building products database. This free online tool is designed to streamline sourcing green materials, allowing users to select products by sustainability attributes, labels, and certifications in real time.
The construction of Villazero, located in Borlange, Sweden, has attracted a lot of attention, not only because it was built by almost only women, but also it is the world’s first carbon-neutral single-family home. The home is certified according to NollCO2 (Green Building Council) and the Nordic Ecolabel.
The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) announced last week nearly 100 net zero certifications earned under the LEED Zero program, representing more than 23 million square feet of space. One-fourth of LEED zero projects earned multiple certifications, demonstrating achievement of net zero goals in several categories.
On June 1 the U.S. Green Building Council announced the recipients of its 2022 USGBC Leadership Awards. The annual awards recognize leadership and commitment to the green building industry and spotlights exemplary work that has been influential in the expansion of sustainable, higher performing buildings.
