BMC Acquires Locust Lumber, Further Strengthening its Market Position and Capabilities in Charlotte, NC

BMC Stock Holdings, Inc., a leading provider of diversified building products, services and innovative building solutions in the U.S. residential construction market, announced that it has acquired Locust Lumber, a respected supplier of lumber products and building materials primarily to custom homebuilders and professional remodelers in Charlotte, NC.

After Final Ruling, Jeld-Wen and Steves Continue to Spar

After a lengthy legal battle between door manufacturers Jeld-Wen and Steves and Sons Inc. looked to end in December 2018, sparring continues over potential delays associated with a request for retrial.

State of the industry: pretty good

The latest Houzz industry report forecasts growth for 2019, but it’s decelerating.

Houzz Inc., the home remodeling and design web site, released the 2019 Houzz U.S. State of the Industry. The report provides an outlook on 2019 and review of 2018 performance for residential renovation and design businesses. “Residential construction and design service professionals large and small have sustained a remarkable multi-year run with upper-single to double-digit revenue growth,” said Nino Sitchinava, Houzz principal economist.

WMA Members support Community Partner Education Grant (CPEG) for local teachers
Simpson Door Company and Sierra Pacific Foundation participate along with seven other local businesses to partner with the Community Partner Education Grant (CPEG). The CPEG committee announced that it awarded $23,850 in grants to thirty-seven teachers in both Grays Harbor and Mason Counties in Washington State. Read more at KXRO
